The photograph 12 Angry Men (1957) is based on the story of twelve jurywomans who are responsible for deliberating and deciding the share of a teenage boy accused of murdering his father. Although to nearly it seems wish well an open and shut case where the boy is definitely guilty, unmatched juror speaks out against the fashionable groupthink of the other eleven jurors and admits that although he does not know if the boy is guilty, he is not convert that he is. Throughout the film this one juror, played by Henry Fonda, speaks his mind in a very non-confrontational office, and begins to govern the jury vote by vote. By the end of the film the jury has reached a consensus of not guilty. Power is describe in our text as the ability to influence, command, or defend force; a measure of a persons potential to get other to do what he or she expects them to do, as well as to avoid being coerce by others to do what he or she does not sine qua non to do. In this film, you see many different aspects of this concept, ranging from Fondas character having an understated powerful influence over the lodge of the group, to the opposite extreme of a very angry juror fighting to go for the rest of the group as a result of a personal issue with his son.

It is a very interesting comparison to see that the angry juror, who is making the most noise and trying to control the way the jury votes the most, very receives very little respect from the majority of the members. However, Henry Fondas character approaches the issue more from a teamwork point of view, and consistently gains votes towards his way of thinking as he calmly and rationally discusses what he viewed as inconsistencies in the case that lead him to cerebrate the boy may not be guilty.
This film is an dire example of how one person standing up against popular thought can, in fact, sway the rest of the group to their way of thinking.
