The setting of the submit is vastly different to the setting in the novel. For example in the novel the plot was set on Soldier Island. On the other hand in the film the plot was set in the desert of Africa. Although the setting is different, the irritation still stayed the same. it was dark and sinister with a sense of irony. Vera Claythorne was tormented with the guilt of her crime and was withal the last survivor of the novel. However in the novel Vera was envisioned very different. She did not hang herself in the novel but instead fell she fell in love with Mr Lombard and escape with him.
