Webster defines racialism as a theory that race determines human traits and capacities (Webster, 2012). Webster defines ethnicities as a particular ethnic affiliation or assembly (Webster, 2012). Poetry is everything the poet sees (Clugston, 2010). To state it even more broadly, poetry is everything the poet senses, feels, experiences, imagines (Clugston, 2010). Webster defines a short story as an invented prose narrative shorter than a figment usually dealing with a few characters and aiming at unity of effect and often concentrating on the creation of mood sort of than plot (Webster, 2012) In other words, poetry has an intrinsic spirit: It is built into our human existence (Clugston, 2010). The short story uncouth Lovers written by Nadine Gordimer in 1975 and the poem What its want to be a Black Girl written by Patricia Smith in 1991 are two pieces of literary plant that I take up chosen to analysis the course of this paper.
In both inelegant Lovers and What its like being a Black Girl main character are fair sex who have had to deal with close to level of racism or discrimination. People have been dealing with some form of racism and or discrimination for centuries.
Although it may be taboo to some when it is talked about openly or pointed out but it is something that we have all experience in some form or another during the course of our lives.
In the short story Country Lovers the forbidden love that took place on a southerly African farm between Thebedi a young lightlessness girl and white boy name Paulus Eysendyck. Thebedi and Paulus were both brocaded on the same farm as friend since they were bitty children.
